Stars valley in Qeshm island in south of Iran,Persian gulf was carved out by wind and rain during the Pleistocene Epoch, approximately 2 million years ago. In places, the canyon is 50 ft (15 m) below the surface of the plateau it has eroded from and is adorned with oddly shaped arches, columns and passageways. It's name seems to be derived from the legend that it was formed from a falling star (meteor).
